Best, age 82, of 248 Nixon Street, Anderson, SC, wife of the late William Perry Best, died Saturday, October 1, 2005 at her residence.Born in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Henry Richey and Etta Fortner Richey. She was retired from J.P. Stevens Company, Appleton Plant with more that 40 years of service.Survivors include a son, Douglas W. Best of Anderson, SC; daughters, Jane Harris of Anderson, SC and Mary Hightower of Seneca, SC; brothers, John Henry Fortner and Junior Fortner, both of Anderson, SC; a sister, Irene Langsford, of Pendleton, SC; ten grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Perry Mac Richey.Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Reverend Terry Chapman.
