Dorothy Ann Lepeak

Dorothy Ann Bismack, age 91 passed away on 14, January 2025, in Birmingham, AL.
She was the daughter of the late John and Rose Lepeak of Auburn, Michigan. She was married for (62) years to Thaddeus R. (Ted) Bismack until his death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, James, and Edward.
Dorothy was a graduate of TL Handy High School, in Bay City Michigan, as well as Bay City Business College. She worked for Dow Chemical in Midland, MI. as a secretary clerk.
Her husband's career took her to many locations, including time in Milan Italy. At the time, she was a mother of 4 young children, ranging in age from newborn to 11 years old. She remembered it being a big challenge managing family and a life in a foreign culture.
Eventually locating in Anderson in 1972, Dorothy was a busy homemaker and worked for Monroe (Business Machines) as a secretary/office manager, and later, for Anderson District 5, at Whitehall Elementary School as school secretary.
Dorothy was a lifelong Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Anderson, SC, where she and her husband were very active. For over 15 years they served as Extraordinary Ministers, providing weekly visits to the elderly, sick, dying of the parish, in form of home and hospital visits to bring communion to those unable to attend church in person.
She was loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and leaves behind a sister, Mary of Portland OR, brother Patrick (Judy) of Clearwater FL; sons, Rick, of Anderson, SC, Kevin (Beth), of Huntsville, AL, daughters, Sue (Phil), of Gainesville GA, and Mary Beth (Brian), of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Michael Bismack , Katherine Creamer (Lane), Andrew Bismack (Katie), Kathryn Bismack, Anna Trainor (Tyler), Alyssa Saucier, Brianna Goodwin (Zack), Elizabeth Crumly, Ethan Crumly; great grandchildren, James Trainor, Magnolia Trainor.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 27, 2025, from 10:00-10:45 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The funeral mass will begin at 11:00 am with Father Philip S. Gillespie as celebrant. A committal will follow 1:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
