Dorothy Willise Bruce Cheek, 96, passed away, July 29, 2019 at Iva Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. From her birth on May 27, 1923 until her death she cared for everyone around her. She was the daughter of the late Will and Elise Bruce. She was married to the late Thomas Cheek. She was retired from Jackson Mill and a member of Community Wesleyan Church and The Sunrise Senior's Group. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Cheek Moore; brother, Billy Bruce (Eleanor); sisters, Geraldine Gable, Alice Willis and Sue Butler (Raymond); 4 grandchildren, Darrin Reed (Libby), Dawn Gray Moore (Tim), Curt Moore and Jeremiah Moore (Bridget); 10 great-grandchildren, Blane (Ashley), Dylan, Christopher (Jessica), Cody (Jennifer), Chandler, Tanner, Curt, Kayleigh, Braylon, and Brock; 3 great-great grandchildren, Josie May, Sonny, and Jordyn. Also, many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Willise was predeceased by sisters, Angeline Gaines (John) and Shirley Powell (Elmer). The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Thursday, August 1, 2019 at Community Wesleyan Church, 1906 Elberton Hwy, Iva, SC 29655. The funeral service will begin at 2:00pm. Burial will be in Iva City Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted.
