Dorothy "Dot" Bowers Dominick, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Newberry County, SC, on January 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Asa Furman Bowers and the late Frances Robertha Cromer Bowers. She worked in textiles and was a member of New Life Fellowship Church. She is survived by her husband, Ira Dominick; children, Furman Dominick and his wife Susan of Manning, SC and Edith Hamilton and her husband Jack of Anderson; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverends David Walters and Eddie Burdette officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memory Gardens at 4:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be used to build a home in memory of Dot, Walk a Mile Project, Missions in Guatemala, PO Box 400, Pendleton, SC 29670.
