Dowis; seven sisters & four brothers.Mrs. Dowis was of the Baptist faith and retired from the Vogue Shop.Survivors include daughters: Dotty Dowis of the home, Judy D. Holmes and husband, Glenn of Williamston; son: Sidney Dowis and wife, Libby of Starr; seven grandsons, five great grand daughters, five great grandsons, 2 great-great grandsons; sisters: Arthurleen Ethridge, Bonnie Rutherford, Jane King, Debbie Johnson, Glenda Hix, Gloria Furgeson, Imogene Chappelear, Eldred Barker, & Billie Howard; brothers: Roger Chappelear, Michael Chappelear, Harry Marett, & Rayford Marett.The Funeral Service will be held at 3pm on Thursday, September 23, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Hub Blankenship.
