ANDERSON, SC'Dorothy Nell Rice Hood, age 67, of 1501 East Greenville Street, Anderson, SC died on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at NHC HealthCare in Anderson, SC.Born on April 7, 1938 in Abbeville, SC, Mrs. Hood was a daughter of the late J. Ralph Rice and the late Gladys Smith Rice. She was a former employee of Grant's Department Store, Pendleton High School Cafeteria, and The Dutch Oven in Pendleton, SC. She was of the Baptist Faith.Mrs. Hood is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Holahan and her husband, Tom of Anderson, SC and Melissa Brock of Belton, SC; one brother, Easton R. 'Buddy' Rice and his wife Margie of Townville, SC; one sister, Clara Jean Taylor and her husband, Velton of Anderson, SC; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Rice; and four grandchildren, Emilee Brock Burdette and her husband Brandon of Belton, SC, Kathryn Elizabeth, Anna Genevieve, and Mary Grace Holahan all of Anderson, SC.In addition to her parents Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Lee Rice and a sister, Patricia 'JoAnn' Rice Saylor.The family is at their respective homes.
