Dorothy "Dot" Ashworth Tate Klatt, 87, formerly of Elberton, GA and Anderson, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Hartwell, GA.

Ms. Klatt was born in Anderson, SC on April 14, 1937, daughter of the late Joseph Brown Ashworth and Florence Robinson Ashworth. She worked at Centerville Dress Shop for many years.

Surviving are her son, William Martel "Marty" Tate and his wife Kelli of Elberton, GA; two grandsons: Michael and Christopher; siblings: Gary Ashworth, Greg Ashworth, and Joann Thomas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Brewer Tate; son, Ervin Sexton "Tripp" Tate; grandson, Robert Brantley Tate; brothers, Pete Ashworth and Donald Ashworth; and fiancé Robert Lovell.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, from 2:00-2:45p.m. at Berry Funeral Home in Elberton, GA. Funeral services will follow at 3:00p.m. in the funeral home chapel, officiated by the Rev. Tim Adams. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park in Elberton, GA.
