Dorothy Virginia McInnis, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House at the age of 75. Dorothy graduated high school in Burlington, Iowa in 1965. She went on to study nursing at Southeastern Iowa Area Community College in 1966 and graduated with honors. She and her husband William McInnis retired in Anderson, SC in 2017. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brother, Gary Kane of Anderson, SC; sisters, Judy Cross and Jeannie Smith both of Anderson, SC, and Terri Bailey of West Point, IA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Russell Kane of Carollton, GA. The family will receive friends Monday, April 24, 2023, from 7:00-9:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at 11:30 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Mr. Michael Rippy as celebrant. The service will also include the Nightingale Tribute performed by the Nurses Honor Guard of South Carolina. A committal service will begin at 1:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
