Dorothy Frances Timmerman Thackston, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at NHC in Anderson, SC. She was the daughter of Waymon and Ruby Timmerman. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Armstrong, son-in-law, Skip Armstrong, and granddaughter, Marie Armstrong. She is now dancing in Heaven with her husband and love of her life, Don Thackston. Frances is also survived by her three sisters, Faye (Kenneth) Cantrell, Jean (Johnny) McConnell, and Sarah (Alvin) Drake. Her brother, Ben (Peggy) Timmerman just welcomed her in Heaven. Frances spent many years as a Trust Officer for Wachovia Bank in Anderson, was a founding member of the Anderson Shag Club, and a strong supporter of the Clemson Tigers. Her favorite thing in life was family, especially being a Mom and Grandmamma. She will be remembered by us and her many friends for her easy going style and loving heart. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2 pm at the Old Silverbrook Cemetery at 1405 White Street in Anderson.. The family will receive friends following the service and at the home of Skip and Carol in Greenville that evening. We would also like to the thank the staff of NHC and Caris Healthcare of Anderson for their care during this long journey. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
