DOROTHY WEST February 13, 1923 - March 7, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Mary Dorothy West, age 90, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Ansel West and the late Bertha Hall West. She was an graduate of Girls High in Anderson. Dorothy was a Telephone Operator with Bell South for over 33 years. She enjoyed her family and took care of them all over the years. Dorothy was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, including her special nieces, Mary Marzolf and Tootsie Goolsby and her special great niece and nephew, Samantha Marzolf and Max Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Harley A. West, Sr., Eddie West, Charles West and Aubrey "Bud" West; and one sister, Catherine McCloud. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 4:00 PM with Reverend Jeff Roper officiating. A private family entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM at the funeral home.
