Dorothy E. Rice Wilbanks, 90, of Iva, SC, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at her home. Born April 26, 1930 in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late William Reid "W.R." Rice and Montine Sisk Rice. She was married to the late Cecil L. Wilbanks. Dot was a 1947 graduate of Lebanon High School, formerly worked for Clark Schwebel and was a Mary Kay representative for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Iva and was active in the WMU and all church activities. Dot will be remembered as a Godly lady who loved her church, children and family but her greatest love was to God. She is survived by her sons, Tommy Wilbanks (Terri) and Ray Wilbanks (Diane); brother, Gerald Rice (Shirley); 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Roger Dale Wilbanks; daughter, Carol Wilbanks Gillespie; brothers, W.R. "Bill" Rice, Jr., Edward Rice and James Rice; and sisters, Bobbie Rice Grogan Whitt and Carolyn Rice Ellison. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 from 5:00-8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1:00 pm in The Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Gray and Rev. Marion Davis officiating. A private burial will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery. Social distancing will be observed and masks are encouraged. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E Calhoun St, Anderson, SC 29621. The family will be at the home.
