Douglas Alton "Fudge" Hutchins, age 74, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021, at Greer Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Born April 27, 1946, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Frank Amos Hutchins and Annie Lee Graham Hutchins. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a truck driver for Salvation Army where he later retired. He enjoyed reading, collecting antiques, wrestling, and golf. Fudge loved his family dearly and will be truly missed. He was a member of the Salvation Army Church and the Boys Club. He is survived by Patsy Hutchins, his children, April Hutchins, Kevin Hutchins, Crystal Shelby, and Johnathan Hutchins; brother, Sandy Hutchins, and his wife, Janet; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Dale Hutchins; and sister, Myra Ann Dyar. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
