Doyle Roy Harper, born on September 12, 1934, in Mineral Bluff, Georgia, passed away on August 27, 2023, at the age of 88. He was a man of strong faith, devoted to family. Doyle valued education and hard work throughout his life. He earned his Master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University. He later added an MBA from Furman and Clemson Universities to his academic achievements. He served with honor in the Army for eight years, progressing to Captain before pursuing a career in textile chemistry, retiring from BASF in Anderson, South Carolina. Doyle had a keen interest in history. He wrote articles on historical subjects and authored a book on the history of Fannin County. Additionally, he conducted extensive genealogical research and involved the entire family in Revolutionary War reenactments. Doyle also became a skilled artisan blacksmith.
