Obituary

Dr. Andy Adams met Jesus face to face on November 3, 2021. He entered this world on October 24, 1939 in Charleston, WV. His mother and father, Nancy and Bob (both deceased) enjoyed watching curly haired, blue-eyed Andy grow up in the South Hills neighborhood, along with his little sisters Martha (Maddy/deceased) and Jane (Weatherford/Warrenton, VA). In tenth grade, Andy met his sweetheart of 65 years, Catherine. After they married in 1962, they moved to Morgantown, WV (WVU) so Andy could finish his dental degree, and eventually moved to Anderson. It's there where they raised daughter, Helen (Kevin/Ingram/Greenville, SC), and son, Jonathan (Marietta, GA) to know and share the love of Jesus. Grandaughter, Katherine (Ingram), gave him joy from her arrival in 2002. Andy kept the community's teeth pearly white for 46 years before he retired, praying with patients for help and hope from the Lord. Active in Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International and the Gideons, Andy's kindness and gentleness showed in everything he did. He loved golfing with his buddies, puns, strumming his guitar, a good reuben sandwich, and licorice. And don't get us started about his shoe collection. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest at https://www.havenofrest.cc/, Andy's favorite local charity.
