Dr. William Lee Dobbins, Jr., age 70, of Townville, SC died suddenly on October 25, 2017, at his residence of natural causes. Born on February 8, 1947, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late William Lee Dobbins and the late Mary Virginia Ramsay Dobbins. He graduated from Clemson University with a BS degree in Pre-Med and the Medical University of South Carolina. He was an ER doctor for over forty years. He was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Gary Swift of Anderson, SC. Survivors include his brother, Al Dobbins of Anderson, SC; sister, Jenny Swift of Anderson, SC; nephews, Russell Swift of Pawley's Island, SC and Heyward Swift and wife Ashley of Anderson, SC; great-nephew, Grant Swift of Pawley's Island, SC; great-niece, Mary Grace Swift of Pawley's Island, and many cousins. He will be remembered for his love of medicine and history, his compassion for all animals, especially his beloved dogs, and his kindness to the down-trodden.
