DR. BILL EWING Dr. William "Bill" Robbins Ewing, Sr., age 83, of 139 Bradley Park, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Great Falls, SC, on February 15, 1931, he was the son of the late Harvey M. Ewing and the late Willie Robbins Ewing. For 59 years, he was the loving and devoted husband of the late Anne Elizabeth Robinson Ewing until her death in 2011. Dr. Ewing was a graduate of Wofford College, Class of 1951, and then attended and graduated from the Medical College of South Carolina, Class of 1955. He did a fellowship at Emory Hospital in OB/GYN, and subsequently began his medical practice in Anderson in 1957. Dr. Ewing was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served the Methodist Conference of South Carolina in several capacities. Dr. Ewing leaves behind a son, Billy Robbins Ewing, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Anderson; a daughter, Deborah Anne Bonin and her husband, Tom, of Anderson; 6 grandchildren, Joey, Matthew and Jordan Bonin, Emily Grace Ewing, Lori Sloan and husband, Michael, and Tyler Williams and his wife Michaela; 3 great-grandchildren, Reagan and Blake Sloan and Harper Williams. In addition to his parents and his wife, Anne, Dr. Ewing was preceded in death by a son, Philip Ewing and a sister Elaine Jones. A Graveside Service to celebrate and honor the life of Dr. Bill Ewing will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Dr. Bob Carlisle officiating. The family is at their respective homes and will visit with friends following the service at Forest Lawn. The family suggests that contributions in memory of Bill be made to Haven of Rest, 214 E.
