MARTINOctober 16, 1937 - October 24, 2010Pendleton, SC ' Dr. Henry 'Hank' Calhoun Martin, Sr., age 73, husband of Judy Smiley Martin, of 205 Martin Sausage Road, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2010 at his residence.Born on October 16, 1937 to the late John Bayles Martin and Emmaline Whitaker Martin, Dr. Martin was a graduate of Pendleton High School, Class of 1955; Clemson University, Class of 1959 and earned his Doctorate Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in 1963. He served in the United States Air Force for three years in Germany. Dr. Martin practiced for over 35 years with Internal Medicine Associates of Anderson. The last few years, he practiced at Med Central in Anderson. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Anderson. He was an avid landscaper and outdoorsman. Dr. Martin was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved to watch his two grandsons in their sporting endeavors.Survivors include his wife of the home; his son, Henry C. Martin, Jr. and his wife Kristi and their children, Hank and Clay Martin, of Pendleton, SC; his brother, Dr. J.B. Martin of Pendleton, SC; three sisters, Rebecca Browder of Pendleton, SC, Doris Wright of Columbia, SC and Eleanor Ross of Anderson, SC; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Dr. Martin was preceded in death by a sister, Peg Martin Porter.A Private Family Committal Service will be held at the Martin Family Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at First Presbyterian Church of Anderson on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends in the Session Room immediately following the memorial service on Tuesday.Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 302 W.
