PLESS, JR.AUGUST 13, 1954 - DeceMBER 7, 2010ANDERSON, SC ' Dr. Coy Edward Pless, Jr., age 56, resident of Starr, SC, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Elbert County, GA, on August 13, 1954, he was a son of Mornay Anderson Pless and the late Coy Edward Pless, Sr. Dr. Pless was a graduate of Hart County High School, a graduate of Emmanuel College; attended Clemson University, Tri-County Technical College, and Greenville Technical College; and attained his Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree from Sherman College. He was the owner of Pless Clinic of Chiropractic. Additionally, Dr. Pless was affiliated with Silver Star Realty as a licensed Realtor.Dr. Pless was a member of the Freedom Center of Anderson, formerly the First Assembly of God. There he was active in all phases of church work. In years past he was active within the Gideon's International. He was a longtime faithful volunteer with the Haven of Rest Ministries. Survivors include his wife of twenty-two years, Vicki Wright Pless; mother, Mornay Anderson Pless of Dewy Rose, GA; two sons: Blake Sorrow and wife, Danyell, and Chad Sorrow and wife, Nikki, all of Anderson, SC; a sister, Mona Johnson of Ware Shoals, SC; two brothers: Curtis Pless of Anderson, SC, and Ricky Pless of Dewy Rose, GA. He was affectionately known as 'Pop-Pop' to his two grandsons, Will & Seth Sorrow, both of Anderson, SC.The Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Phil Sears will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, December 10, 2010, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday in the Bowman City Cemetery, Bowman, GA.The family is at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Mark Taylor, 112 Worsham Lane, Anderson, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm on Thursday.Serving as Pallbearers are family members ' Jason Pless, Jordan Aiken, Noah Taylor, Jay Wright, Blake Sorrow, and Chad Sorrow.
