Dr. B.D. Thomas, (Bobby Dean Thomas), age 90, of Starr, SC passed away February 21, 2022. He was born January 9, 1932, in Williamston, South Carolina. Dr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Levi Thomas and Janie Burdette Thomas; son, Dan Martin Thomas; grandson, Brent Daylan Thomas; and sister, Joann Thomas Vassar. Dr. Thomas was a chiropractor in Anderson, SC, a member of the United States Navy, Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and instructor of Chiropractic and Nutrition. Dr. Thomas was deeply honored to render lifelong services to many residents of the city of Anderson and surrounding communities who were not only his patients, but also his friends. An avid reader with a voracious appetite for learning and continuing education, Dr. Thomas enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, boating, music, singing and dancing. Dr. Thomas is survived by a son, Kevin Elliott Thomas (Kathryn) of St. Petersburg, FL; two daughters, Karen Thomas Simon (Richard) of Vernon, CT, and Melody Louise Thomas Rowe of San Diego, CA; brother, Dick Elliott Thomas of Anderson; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; former wife, Joann Ashworth Thomas; 3 nieces, and 1 nephew. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Parnell officiating. In lieu of flower donations may be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center or the Anderson Interfaith Ministry food pantry program.
