Wilson OrrAnderson, SCDr. Clarence Wilson Orr, age 92, of 2203 West North Avenue and husband of the late Mary Holler Orr died on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson, Dr. Orr served in the United States Army during World War II and was a graduate of Clemson University and the Medical University of South Carolina. He was a retired surgeon and member of Central Presbyterian Church. Dr. Orr was a true historian.Survivors include his children: son, Robert Wilson 'Lujack' Orr and his wife, Sarah Jane Orr; daughter, Mary Orr Miller; grandchildren, Katherine McGaha, Bradley Orr, and Ashleigh Cole; great grandchildren, Ann McGaha, Miles McGaha, Sara Orr, Julia Orr, Bailey Cole, and Lujack Cole.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eunice Orr and brothers, James, Frank, Furman, and Doc Orr.A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 6, 2008 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park conducted by the Reverend Dr. David J. Bailey.The family will receive friends after the service at the residence, 2203 West North Avenue.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 1404 North Boulevard, Anderson, South Carolina 29621.The McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
