Drew James Visioli and his wife, Peggy Ann Visioli, both age 71, of Anderson, SC, went to be with their Lord on Friday, May 20, 2022.
Drew was born December 17, 1950, in Cranford, NJ, and was a son of the late Ed Visioli and Norma Roll Visioli. Peggy was born January 30, 1951 and was a daughter of the late Cecil Roger Hobbs and Winnie Corine Newsome Hobbs.
In 1979 Drew married his beloved wife Peggy and they were happily married for 42 years. They enjoyed relaxing days on the lake and fishing at the dock. Most days you could find them outside playing with their grandson, they loved being his Ampa and Nana. They had many friends who were like family and went to countless ballgames, races, weddings, showers, graduations and recitals. They enjoyed serving in their community and volunteering at Meals on Wheels. They were members of Gospel Light Church.
Drew was a graduate of Clemson University and was retired from Santens and had also worked for Springs Industries and Milliken. He was an unbelievably talented craftsman with mechanical skills to match. He would fix, build or remodel anything he set his mind to. He dreamed of owning a classic Chris Craft replica motorboat, so he spent four years building one of his own from plans and salvaged parts-a beauty of a boat that many have seen crisscrossing Lake Hartwell in the years since. Drew was quick to give a warm smile to anyone, sharing his own joy of life with everyone around him And no one knew that joy of life better than friends he spent time with, whether they were golfing or shooting pool, hunting or fishing.
Peggy enjoyed a career in education working specifically with special needs children. She had many "adopted" children and grandchildren that she took under her wing. She made all feel loved and cherished. She always made time to sit and talk and never missed a birthday or special event. Peggy loved working in their gardens and watching the birds eat at the bird feeders she never let run out of food. She loved her neighbors and spent countless hours making her neighborhood a better place to live. She lived a full life and people were always her priority. She was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman.
Together, Drew and Peggy are survived by their daughter, Melissa Visioli Burdette, her husband Joey and grandson, Drake Burdette. Also surviving are Drew's brother, Barry Visioli (Mary Alyce); Peggy's sister, Cecilia Kitchens and brother, Roger Hobbs (Nancy); and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, May 29, 2022, from 1:00-3:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 3:30 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Chad Gamble officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 285, Anderson, SC 29622.
