Duane Sutherland, age 76, of Belton, SC, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at AnMed Medical Center.

Born May 17, 1948, in Anderson, SC, he was a son of Julia Grace Adams Sutherland and the late William Thomas Sutherland. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Douglas and Tony Sutherland; one grandson and one great grandson.

Duane, affectionately known as "Horsefly", was a dedicated employee of Owens Corning Fiberglas for 39 years until retirement. He was an avid golfer and member of Pine Lake Golf Club. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by all who knew him. He was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 34 years, Judy Elgin Sutherland; children, Anthony Sutherland, Marty Sutherland (Mandy), Glenn Sutherland (Kellie), Letisha Wardlaw, and Tracy Donald (Craig); brother, Steve Sutherland (Wanda); 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his four-legged friend, Cesar.

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 17, 2024, from 12:00-1:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm in the Chapel with Rev. Sam Duncan officiating. A private burial will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the residence.
