EARL MC MAHAN December 14, 1946 - November 25, 2008IVA, SCMr. Earl Cecil McMahan, age 61, of Iva, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at the AnMed Health Medical Center.Born in Iva, SC on December 14, 1946, Mr. McMahan was a son of the late Harold Cecil 'Smokey' McMahan and Idelia Louise Wiles McMahan. He was a United States Vietnam veteran having served in the 101st Airborne Division and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He retired as a construction superintendent with B & L Mechanical with 15 years of service. Mr. McMahan was a member of Good Hope Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his son, Travis E. McMahan, U.S. Navy, and his wife Elvia, currently in Florida; daughters Christie M. Gaylord and her husband Andrew and Kelly J. McMahan, all of Iva; five grandchildren, Winston and Will Gaylord, Sophia McMahan, Carley McMahan and Anthony Martinez; brother, Larry McMahan and his wife, Rita of Iva.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a twin sister, Cheryl McMahan.The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2008 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Ronnie Powell.
