Earle S. "Ashe" Ashton, Jr. of Anderson, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, at his residence. Born February 24, 1930 in Easton, PA, he was the son of the late Earle S. Ashton and the late Dorothy Black Ashton. He was reared in White Plains, NY. Graduation from The Citadel preceded his tour of duty as an officer in the armed forces of the United States, during which he served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Post military, he spent years in the financial service industry, sometimes referred to as Wall Street. He retired to North Carolina in 1988 and moved to Anderson, South Carolina in the year 2000. He is survived by his wife, Holly Brooks Ashton; four children, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren; his brother, Harris John Ashton and wife Angela of Greenwich, CT and Palm Beach, FL; and nieces Kelly and Victoria, and extended family Nick and Linda Cirocco. In addition to his parents, Ashe was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Ashton, son of Earle and Kathleen Ashton. A Memorial Service to celebrate and honor the life of Mr. Ashton will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at 4 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. John B. Hardaway, IV officiating. Burial will occur at a later date in Easton, PA. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parlor at Grace Episcopal Church.
