Obituary

Earley E. Brown, age 90, of Anderson, SC, husband of Marilyn Brown for 67 years, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. Born March 12, 1932, in Anderson County, he was a son of the late J.B. Brown and Ola Lee Hutchins Smith Brown. Earley was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean Conflict, receiving the Purple Heart and multiple other medals. He was formerly a union electrician with IBEW. He was a man of great faith and a minister at Three Crosses Christian International Church. He loved his ministry, church fellowship and studying the Bible. His hobbies included fishing, reading, and writing. His family will remember him as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Burdine Road Church of God. In addition to his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by his sons, Edgar W. Brown of Sandy Springs and Earl Nichols Brown and wife Debra of Anderson; daughter, Melinda A. Gilreath of Anderson; sister, Margaret Sands (John) of Due West; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mike Allen Brown; son-in-law, Terry Gilreath; granddaughter, Brianna Pauline Brown Gilreath; 5 brothers and 1 sister. The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Burdine Road Church of God. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. The committal service will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes.
