Obituary

Earlie Rhodes Hart, age 86, of Anderson, SC, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at her home. Born June 22, 1935, in LaFrance, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jessie Earl Rhodes and Edith Burdette Rhodes. She was married for 58 years to W.C. Hart until his death in 2014. Earlie was the owner of My Own Beauty Shop on Broadway Lake for 60 years. She then ran the beauty shop at Ellenburg Nursing Home for 13 years. In the summers she would work in the beauty shop at NHC Healthcare Anderson. Earlie enjoyed cooking and gardening and excelled at both. She was a member of Orrville Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Ables (Tony) of Anderson; grandchildren, Felicia Bennett (Gabriel), Vanessa Cantrell (Scott), Josh Ables, and Brooke Finley; great grandchildren, Justin Charles Oakley who was raised in the home, Caleb Cantrell, AnnMaria Cantrell, Tyson Finley, and Hazel Grace Shephard; 2 great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Virgie South, Barbara Ann Stanton, and Joyce Bowers. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, J.E., Bruce, Kenneth, and Larry Rhodes; and sister, Bonnie Smith. A cryptside service will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Earlie's special friends, Kim Owenby Brown, Donna Knox, and Lynn Powell as well as the staff of Hospice of the Upstate for the love and care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
