Edward Lamar McCullough, age 54, of 105 Mary Beth Drive, Anderson, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2015, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, on January 13, 1961, he was the son of the late George Edward McCullough and the late Faye Smith McCullough. Mr. McCullough attended Crescent High School. He became a successful businessman in Anderson. Eddie was the owner of Eddie's Grading Company and for many years, he was owner and operator of Big Eddie's BBQ restaurant and catering. At the time of his death, Mr. McCullough was Assistant Chief of the Flat Rock-Bowen Fire Department and at one time, served as Chief. In his free time, Eddie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith. Eddie Bo was a friend to many. Whenever a need arose, he was always there for others. He put others before self. Left to carry on his legacy are his survivors, which include his wife of twenty seven years, Angela Hood McCullough of the residence; a daughter who was also his constant companion, business partner and friend, Meredith Ashton McCullough, of the residence; a step-mother, Joyce Hulme McCullough of Anderson; a half-brother, Milton Dwayne McLeskey of Evans, GA; two half-sisters, Judy Betterly of Piedmont, SC and Debbie Cates of Simpsonville, SC. In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by a half-sister, Freda Alewine. Eddie Bo will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the Anderson Civic Center, 3027 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard, on Sunday, November 15, 2015, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Eddie McCullough will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Anderson Civic Center, with Reverend Dale Cross and Reverend Butch Moore officiating. Interment will follow at South Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. McCullough may be made to Flat Rock-Bowen Fire Department, 3115 Airline Road, Anderson, SC 29624.
