EDITH GABLENovember 13, 1919 - October 10, 2009Anderson, SC ' Edith Orene Bryant Gable, age 89, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Mountain View Health Care in Clayton, GA.Mrs. Gable was born in Anderson, SC on November 13, 1919. She retired from textiles and was a member of Oakdale Baptist Church and participated with the Young at Heart Club as long as her health permitted.Mrs. Gable was predeceased by her parents, Robert E. Bryant and Ella Mayfield Bryant; her husband, Joe A. Gable; twelve brothers and two sisters. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.Survivors include her daughter, Betty Gregg; two granddaughters, Kelly and Bonnie Gregg; and five great-grandsons.A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Rev. David Blizzard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.It is suggested that memorials be made to Oakdale Baptist Church, 6724 S.C. 24, Townville, SC 29689.
