The McDougald Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 2211 North Main Street Anderson, South Carolina 29621 864-224-4343 OBITUARY: EDITH ROSS APRIL 30, 1921 - JUNE 21, 2013 IVA, SC Frances Edith Ellis Ross, age 92, formerly of Iva, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Petra Health & Rehab in McCormick. Born in Iva, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Ellis and the late Dollie Thomas Ellis. Mrs. Ross had moved to Pensacola, FL where she had worked for the Monsanto Company, in 1964 she moved back to Iva, where she worked at Cliffs Caf. She was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, where she was the church clerk, a member of Reba Wansley Sunday School Class, WMU and the Round Table Group. Mrs. Ross was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by a daughter; Hazel Hamn and her husband, Neal of Ninety Six; son, Larry Ross and his wife, Debra of Anderson; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren; a special niece, Alice Taylor Pace of Jacksonville, FL and a special friend, Jenny Thompson of Iva. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Ellis; and a sister, Grace Ellis Taylor. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Good Hope Baptist Church with the Reverend Curtis Bundy officiating. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the Reba Wansley Sunday School class along with Randy King, Russell Metz, Jimmy Pilgram, Jimmy Daniel, Blake Campbell will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm before the service.
