Edith Welborn Self, 92, of Anderson went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Friday, March 26, 2021, at Dominion Senior Living.
Born, October 31, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Edward Truman Welborn and Lola Irby Welborn. Until her retirement she worked at Southern Bell and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of High Praises Church where she enjoyed working with the children in Sunday School. Her life was built on her loving faith in Christ. Because of her selfless care for her family she was affectionately known as Mama E. She always had a smile on her face and was kind to everyone she met.
Surviving are two sons, Wayne Self (Ann) and Steve Self (Sheila) and daughter Angelia Limbaugh (Andy); grandchildren, Jonathan Self, Barrett Self, Susan Stanley, Hannah Brown, Meredith Wilson, David Limbaugh, Marie Limbaugh, Rachel Parvin, Caroline Self and Catherine Self; and six great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Fisher, Matilda Butler, Elizabeth Martin, Lois Welborn and a brother Charles Welborn.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial with Mr. Andy Limbaugh officiating. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks for her loving caregivers at Dominion Senior Living and Hospice of the Upstate.
