Edmund J. Hoffman, Jr., age 84, of Liberty, SC, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born April 20, 1940, in Chelsea, MA, he was a son of the late Edmund J. Hoffman, Sr. and Barbara Brown Hoffman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Susan Rebecca Ross Hoffman; and brother-in-law, Paul Winkle.

Edmund was a proud veteran of the United States Army and was formerly as steel worker with Grede. He was a devout Catholic and member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Easley. He was extremely generous and loved people. His hobbies included cooking and gardening.

He is survived by his sons, Edmund J. Hoffman, III (Tammie) of Pelzer, SC, James Hoffman (Leigh Ann) of Oahu, Hawaii, and Ross Andrew Hoffman of Liberty, SC; brother, James Michael Hoffman (Eva) of Paeonian Springs, VA; sisters, Rita Winkle of Baltimore, MD, Barbara Fox (Dean) of Suffolk, VA, Martha Hess (James) of Irmo, SC, and Nellie Mills (Andy) of Apex, NC; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 am at Greenville Community Church. A committal service will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 1:00 pm at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
