Edna Louise B. Burgess, age 94, of Anderson, SC, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at NHC of Anderson. Born February 26, 1927, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harbert H. Burnette and Lois Dove Burnette. She was a graduate of Girls High, Class of 1943. Louise worked at Orr Mill as a cloth grader in quality control for many years. She retired from the shoe department at Hamrick's Department Store after 18 years of service retiring in her late 80's. She was a member of Orrville Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Matt Randall Smith; brother, Harold Burnette (Libby) of Anderson, SC; three grandchildren, Shaina, Matt, Clint (Sarah); four great-grandchildren, Aiden, Scarlett, Helen, and Maddilyn; and two great-grand dogs, Zeus, and Chance. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Jessie Mae Evans, Florence Ashworth, Ruby Timmerman, and Nellie Jordan. Family and friends may stop and sign the Guest Register and pay their respects on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Anderson, 105 S.
