Edna M. Carlton July 7, 1921 - June 4, 2012 Edna Mae Carlton, age 90, of Anderson, passed away on June 4, 2012 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Gilmer County, GA, she was the daughter of the late John E. Chastain and the late Sarah Loumanda McClure Chastain. She was employed as supervisor of Housing Services at Furman University for over 20 years. Edna had served as a Worthy Matron of The Eastern Star and was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church in Taylors. Mrs. Carlton is survived by a son, William "Frank" S. Carlton and his wife Jean of Anderson; a brother, Terry Joe Chastain of Jasper, GA; a sister, Margaret Jane Abernathy of Jasper, GA; five grandchildren, Stephen Carlton and his wife Lisa, Geoff Carlton, Elizabeth Carlton Richmond and her husband Matt, Benjamin Carlton, and Ronnie Dickerson; three great-grandchildren, Scout and Finn Carlton and Emily Richmond; a number of nieces and nephews; her pride and joy, Molly, her miniature Dachshund and her special caregivers, Karen Ramsey and Becky Hulon. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Carlton Ottessen and a brother John E. Chastain. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm with the Funeral service beginning in the Chapel at 2:00 pm.
