EDNA CASH COMPTON April 17, 1925 - November 28, 2005 ANDERSON, SCMrs. Edna Cash Compton, age 80, wife of Roy Edgar Compton, formerly of 1720 W. Market Street, Anderson, SC, died Monday, November 28, 2005 at Spring Valley Health Care Center in Elberton, GA.Born in Anderson, SC on April 17, 1925, Mrs. Compton was a daughter of the late Matthew Cash and Maude Colley Cash. She was a graduate of Girls' High School, class of 1942. She was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas and was a member of Nell Townsend Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Roy Edgar Compton of the home; a son, Rev. Michael Compton of Wilmington, NC; daughters, Ann Compton Poteet of Seneca, SC and Becky Compton Byrum of Starr, SC; sisters, Ruby Davis of Anderson, SC and Nelma Dampier of Waycross, GA; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Cash and three sisters, Annie Lee Scarborough, Merle Garner and Cora Lee Carrolle. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2005 at 10:00 am at Varennes Heights Baptist Church officiated by the Reverends Kirt Mitchell and Michael Compton.
