Elaine Champion Hedden, 71, of Anderson, SC passed away at Rainey Hospice House on Friday, April 4, 2025.

Elaine was born in Anderson, SC on September 12, 1953, to the late Clifton Ormand Champion, III and the late Martha Martin Champion.

After graduating with Bachelor of Arts degree from Clemson University, Elaine became a very skilled and professional restaurateur. With her love for people and pleasant personality, she built a flourishing career. She was the "hostess with the mostess." Elaine loved lake life, playing bridge, and sewing. She was very "crafty", an excellent seamstress, made beautiful quilts and always supported local craft fairs. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Clemson Athletics. Elaine was a loving and strong person, evidenced by her dedication to her family, her many years of operating a highly successful business and her long-lasting friendships. She especially delighted in spending time with her grandchild, Lainey.

Elaine is survived by her daughter, Mandy Hedden (Michael); son, Eli Hedden (Rebecca); grandchild, Lainey Kate Hedden; and sisters, Edith Kimberly Champion and Marcha Ann Champion Heaton; nieces, Dr. Heather Heaton Barker (Brian), Hope Heaton Green (Dustin), and Alexandra Champion Stewart; grandnephews: Royce Barker, Graham Green, and Bryson Green; and a brother-in-law, Bruce Calvin Spizler.

A memorial service to honor Elaine's life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:30 am at the McDougald Funeral Home Chapel. The family will greet guests for one hour prior to the service.

The family will be at the residence.
