Edna Vaughn Jones Anderson, SC Edna Vaughn Jones, age 93, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, March 5, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Arthur Vaughn and Bessie M. Vaughn. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late Alvin C. Jones, until his death in 2002. Mrs. Jones was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was known for her banana pudding and macaroni pie. She was a dedicated, lifelong member of Orrville United Methodist Church and Marshall Memorial United Methodist Church, when the two congregations merged. Mrs. Jones is survived by a son, Robert (Bob) Jones (Jeanette); a daughter, Sandra J. Ashworth and Larry Cason, all of Anderson, SC; grandchildren, Adam Ashworth of Charlotte, NC, Derrick Ashworth of Anderson, SC, Brian Jones (Kim) of Sanford, FL, Jill Herring (Richard) of Marietta, GA; great-grandchildren Zackary and Mary Payton Herring of Marietta, GA. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Chastain and Mildred Vaughn; and two brothers, James A. Vaughn and Billie Vaughn. The Funeral Service to celebrate and honor the life of Edna Jones will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Brookshire and Rev. Joyce Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday prior to the service, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Shirley Massey Driver and Angie Reynolds for the love and care shown to Mrs. Jones.
