Edna Lucille Culbertson Rowland, age 95, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Linley Park Post Acute.

Born September 8, 1930, in Piedmont, SC, she was the daughter of the late Claude Thacker and Carrie Grace Morton Thacker. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, W.R. Culbertson; second husband, Claude O. Rowland; daughter, Norma Lee Christina Sullivan; son-in-law, Lawrence Norwood; brothers, Vester Thacker and B.F. Thacker; sisters, Polly Day, Sarah Martin-Ingram, Mattie Lark, Florine Kelly, and Ruby Collawn.

Edna was a chaplain with the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) and worked with the Salvation Army. She was a member of Starr Church of God of Prophecy and was involved in nursing home ministry. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, and singing gospel hymns. Most of all, Edna loved being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her daughter, Myrtle Jenelle Norwood; stepdaughter, Claudia Jenkins; son-in-law, Tyrone Sullivan; six grandchildren, John Sullivan (Joan), Warn Sullivan (Teresa), Fran Wright, Peter Sullivan (Tina), April Sullivan, and Chris Norwood (LeeAnn), two step grandchildren Alana Reece (Michael) and Ethan Jenkins, 15 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 1:00-3:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm. Burial will be on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Graceland Cemetery West in Greenville, SC.
