EDWARD P. CHICVARA May 16, 1919 - June 8, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Edward P. Chicvara, age 93, husband of Lucille Woods Chicvara, of 108 Julia Circle, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Andrew Chicvara and Marie Senics Chicvara. He proudly served his country in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. Chicvara was a retired US Postal Service Carrier in Miami, Fl where he worked for over 22 years. In 1986, along with his wife, they made their home in Anderson, SC. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where he was a member of the Hilltoppers. In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, he is survived by his children, Barbara Barham and her husband Bill Griffith of Anderson, SC and Richard E. Chicvara and his wife Susan of Miami, FL; a brother, Jerome Chicvara and a sister, Marilyn Ciger, both of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren, Jeff Barham, John Barham, Ricky Chicvara, and Amy Klurman; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Henry and George Chicvara and his sisters, Margaret Gottlieb and Mildred Berent. The Mass to celebrate the life of Mr. Chicvara will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11:00am with Father Paul Williams, OFM officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will hold a prayer vigil at 6:00pm on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at The McDougald Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00pm.
