HOOD STRAIN December 9, 1915 - September 26, 2005ANDERSON, SCMr. Edward Hood Strain, age 89, of 2301 Lindale Road, Anderson, SC and husband of the late Catherine Moore Strain, died Monday, September 26, 2005 at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, SC.Born in Gaffney, SC, he was a son of the late Sam J. Strain and Janie McCullough Strain. He was retired as comptroller with Clark-Schwebel. He was a member of the Golden 'K' Kiwanis Club; the Anderson Country Club and attended the Presbyterian College. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Anderson, SC.He is survived by a son, Edward Rogers Strain of Anderson, SC; two daughters, Joyce Ann Poole of Gaffney, SC and Velle Reece Garrison of Sandy Springs, SC; a sister, Catherine Pettit of Gaffney, SC; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, S. B. Strain, Herbert Strain, Charles M. Strain and Lindsey Strain and a sister, Ruth Stuart. The service will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at 3:30 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel by the Reverend Sidney Norton. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.The family will be at the home of a daughter, Velle Reece Garrison, 1106 Moorehead Place, Sandy Springs, SC.Flowers are optional.
