BRUCE September 29, 1923- June 21, 2006ANDERSON, SCMr. Edwin Thomas Bruce, age 82 of 222 Whitehall Road, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at the AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson.Born in Oconee County, SC on September 29, 1923, Mr. Bruce was the son of the late Jim E. Bruce and Willie Ola Shirley Bruce. He was a 1942 graduate of Fair Play High School and was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church in Fair Play, SC. Mr. Bruce was retired from law enforcement after 30 years of service serving in the Sheriff's Department of Oconee County in Seneca and Clemson as a police officer.Survivors include a son, Harry Bruce of Fair Play, SC; sister, Mary Holbrook and her husband, Morgan of Anderson, SC; niece, Donna Webb, nephews, Jimmy and Bruce Holbrook; great-nieces, Hannah and Summer Holbrook and great-nephew Taylor Holbrook, all of Anderson. He is also survived by his former wife of 30 years, Sara Honea Bruce of Fair Play, SC. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Roger Estridge. Interment will follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery in Fair Play, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 23, 2006 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
