Obituary

Clara Effie Gee Allen Lee, age 84, of 3340 Berry Lane, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the Rainey Hospice House, with her husband, Robert, at her side. Born on January 9, 1930, in Hart County, GA, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Allen and the late Melissa Madden Allen. Mrs. Lee was a graduate of Anderson Girls High School, Class of 1947. She was a devoted member of Homeland Park Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the church Choir, and taught in the Training Union program. Mrs. Lee enjoyed camping with her family and spending family time at their Lake Hartwell home. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Robert E. Lee, Sr. of the home; a son, Robert E. "Eddie" Lee, Jr. and his wife, Susan; a brother, James R. Allen and wife, Ruth, of Townville; a granddaughter, Robin Marie Lee Clark and husband, Chris, and 2 great-granddaughters Cassidy and Allie Clark; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters. A Funeral Service to celebrate and honor the life of Effie Gee Lee will be held Thursday, December 18, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Homeland Park Baptist Church, with Rev. James Strickland, Rev. Wayne Dickard and Rev. Tony Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence of Robin and Chris Clark at 259 Devonshire Road, Starr. The family will be at the home of her granddaughter, Robin and her husband Chris, and will receive friends at Homeland Park Baptist Church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Lee may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
