ELAINE HUGHES August 8, 1933 - December 18, 2006ANDERSON, SCMrs. Elaine Davis Hughes, 73, wife of Thomas Lorin Hughes of 709 Woodfield Drive, died Monday, December 18, 2006. Born in Macon Georgia on August 8, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Stuart C. Davis, Jr., and Virginia White Davis. She was a graduate of Mercer University and, after teaching first grade for six years, she was a homemaker.She was a member of New Covenant Presbyterian Church.Surviving are her husband; sons, Stuart Davis Kent and his wife, Connie of Macon, GA, and Paul David Kent and his wife, Kellie of West Columbia, SC; daughter, Summer Marie Kent Wright and her husband, Joey of Clinton, MS; eight grandchildren, Megan Kent of Atlanta, GA, James Paul Kent and Stuart Kent, Jr., of Macon, GA, Mary Elaine, Zoie and Henry Kent of West Columbia, SC, Grady and Owen Wright of Clinton, MS; stepdaughter, Carolyn Lopez and her husband, Maurice of Anderson; step-grandson, Jeff Lopez and his wife, Angie of Anderson; step great-granddaughter, Rachel Lopez of Anderson; also surviving are brother, Stuart C. Davis III and his wife, Kay of Macon, GA; sister, Joan Davis Bryant and her husband, Wayne of Macon, GA.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Louis Max Kent, Jr., and Daryl Allen Kent; a sister, Virginia Davis Powers.The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at 2:00 pm at New Covenant Presbyterian Church officiated by the Reverend Dr. David Rountree.
