ELIZABETH ADAMS January 28, 1928 - September 6, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Elizabeth Jones Adams, age 84, of Anderson, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Jones and the late Ollie Maness Jones. She retired from textiles after 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. She is survived by her children, David Spurlin of Gaffney, SC, Kathy Miller of Anderson, SC, Roger Spurlin of Boiling Springs, SC and Janice White of Gaffney, SC; a brother, Dean Jones; three sisters, Doris Hogan, Annette Thompson and Sylvia Motts; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Willard Spurlin; her second husband, John Adams, Jr.; and 9 siblings. The Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Union Memorial Gardens, Union, SC, with Reverend Sam Duncan officiating. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
