Elizabeth McGill Carlton, age 95, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at NHC Healthcare of Anderson. Born on June 22, 1920 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late J. Harold McGill and Edna Bolt McGill. She opened the Humpty Dumpty day care center which she proudly operated for many years. Along with her husband, they were long time volunteers for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Pope Drive Baptist Church for many years where she was very active, especially in the Ann McNinch Sunday School Class. She served her church faithfully as long as her health permitted her to do so. She is survived by a son, John Carlton of Anderson; two daughters, Becky McCombs and her husband Phil of Anderson, and Beth Arrington and her husband Jack of Simpsonville; and four grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Arnold Thomas Carlton; a daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Carlton; and a sister, Margaret Lee. A Graveside service will be held at Old Silver Brook Cemetery on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ken Wright officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
