Elizabeth Sullivan Daly, age 91, a resident of Morningside of Anderson, died peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Friday, October 30, 2015. Born on April 18, 1924, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Harold Vandiver Sullivan and the late Sarah McFall Sullivan. For nearly fifty years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late James Vincent Daly who died in 2003. Mrs. Daly was a graduate of Anderson Girls' High School, Class of 1941. She then attended Winthrop College, receiving her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English in the Class of 1945. Following graduation, Elizabeth was a social worker at the Anderson Department of Public Welfare. She then was employed by the Florida Health and Rehabilitative Services until her retirement in 1984. After retirement she moved back to her beloved Anderson where she was active in several social clubs, bridge clubs, and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. Mrs. Daly was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church, at one time serving on the Altar Guild. The role which she loved the most was that of mother, grandmother and wife. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Daly Wheeler and her husband, George, of Anderson, Margaret "Peggy" Daly Younggren of Fullerton, CA, and Sarah "Sally" Daly Hill and her husband Guy, of Navarre, FL; three grandchildren, James Daly Burton and his wife, Karen, Guy S. Hill, IV, and Elizabeth Helen Hill; two great-grandchildren, Joyce Elizabeth and Marie Catherine Burton; also surviving are a niece, Katherine Sullivan Link and a nephew, Harold Vandiver Sullivan, III. She will be greatly missed by many friends and her family who loved her so. The family would like to thank the staff at Morningside of Anderson for the loving care they provided Mrs. Daly during her residency. The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Elizabeth Daly will be held on Wednesday, November, 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, with The Reverend John B. Hardaway, IV officiating. Interment will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery.
