Carrie Elizabeth Chapman Griffin, age 87, of 121 Farmer Street, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at Rainey Hospice House. Born on September 3, 1927, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Anderson A. Chapman and the late Alberta Josephine Buchanan Chapman. For over 50 years she was the wife of the late Charles E. Griffin, Jr. She was employed for 35 years at Toxaway Mill. Mrs. Griffin was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. Survivors include four sons, Charles E. Griffin, III (Pat), Billy Wayne Griffin (Vickie), Stanley A. Griffin (Peggy), and Wayne Edward Griffin, all of Anderson. Also surviving are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at 2 p.m. at New Silver Brook Cemetery, with Rev. Wayne Adams officiating.
