Elizabeth Wilson Holmes, 65, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, November 28, 2024. Born in Troy, NY on July 4, 1959, Liz was the daughter of the late Robert M. Wilson and Mary S. Wilson.

Liz was an honor graduate of Bob Jones University. Liz, alongside her husband Jon, introduced the Chick-fil-A brand to Anderson, SC in 1984. Liz not only enjoyed serving guests, but also enjoyed serving her community. Liz was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, was involved in children's ministries, and served in the College and Career Class.

She was honored with the 2012 Service to Mankind Award given by the Sertoma Club; served as Chairman of the Anderson County Republican Party from 2009-2011; and was awarded the State Chairman's Volunteer Service Award in 2009 for her service to the SC Republican Party. Although Liz loved serving others, she considered her children and grandchildren to be her greatest priority. Her greatest satisfaction came from seeing them grow in their walk with the Lord.

Liz is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jon; her children, Ryan Holmes (Yaya) of Peachtree City, GA; Andrea Murillo (Ruben Jr.) of Anderson; her grandchildren, Jillian Grace Murillo 17, Ethan Holmes 15, Blake Murillo 14, Avery Holmes 11, and Maddox Holmes 6. Liz is also survived by her siblings Donna Harrison, Steve Wilson, and Becky Gruendling. Liz loved her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, November 30, 2024 from 5:30-8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at Oakwood Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 1, 2024, with the Rev. Michael Jones officiating. The family encourages those attending to wear Christmas attire in honor of Liz's favorite holiday. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
