MARTINDECEMBER 22, 1916 - March 10, 2009ANDERSON, SC--Elizabeth Thompson Martin, age 92, departed this life on March 10, 2009.Born on December 22, 1916, she was a lifelong resident of Anderson, SC, and was a daughter of the late Peter Guy Thompson and Carrie Smith Thompson. She was a graduate of Anderson College, a member of the First Baptist Church of Anderson, the Gleaners Sunday School Class, and the Anderson County Woman's Club. Mrs. Martin enjoyed sitting with children, working with flowers, and all types of sewing.She leaves to cherish her fond memory a daughter, Gloria Ann Martin of Hendersonville, NC; and two sons: Guy Thompson Martin and wife, Emma Martin, and David Pruitt Martin, Jr., and wife, Cindy Martin, all of Anderson, SC. She is survived by six loving grandchildren: Jill Bowen, Rhett Mohney, & Nancye Peel of Augusta, GA, Ann Davis of Athens, GA, and Gini Martin & Mary Frances Martin of Anderson, SC. She is also survived by six great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters: Edith Price and Catherine Foster.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, March 14, 2009, from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm. A Private Graveside Service will be held for the Martin Family at the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Reverend Dr. James R.
