Ella Mae Carithers Byrum, age 95, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021. Mrs. Byrum was the daughter of Toby and Alma Carithers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Samuel Byrum, Jr. Mrs. Byrum and her husband were members of Garner Memorial Baptist Church which has been reorganized under a different name. She is survived by a son, Dr. Samuel L. Byrum and his wife, Shirley of Easley, SC, and a daughter, Wilma Etrulia Partain of Anderson, SC. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Melanie Wilkins (Jimmy) of Inman, SC, David Byrum of Easley, SC, Mike Partain (Sheryl) of Anderson, SC, and Tim Partain of Anderson, SC; great-grandchildren, Everette, Nikki, T.J., and Tony; 8 great-great grandchildren; her only living brother, Marshall Carithers; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Byrum's birth, life, and death served as a testimony to the greatness of our living God. Also, a special thanks to the Interim Hospice team for the wonderful care they gave to Mrs. Byrum. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 28, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Dr. Jack Couch officiating.
