GRACE PURDY October 8, 1928 -September 29, 2005IVA, SCMrs. Ella Grace Dunn Purdy, age 76, wife of Eston Purdy of 103 Jones Circle, Iva, SC, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at Regency Hospital in Greenville, SC.Born in Lavonia, GA on October 8, 1928, Mrs. Purdy was a daughter of the late Waymon Dunn and Ora Clark Dunn. She was retired from Fieldcrest Cannon. She was a member of Rocky River Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School class and former teacher. She served on various committees throughout the years.Survivors include her husband, Eston Purdy of the home; son, Tommy Purdy and his wife, Peggy of Anderson, SC; a brother, Thomas 'Red' Dunn of Columbia, SC; a sister, Dorothy Maxwell of Antreville, SC; two grandchildren, Jamie Purdy Hamrick and her husband, Travis of Marietta, GA and Christopher Purdy of Anderson, SC.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ella Purdy; three brothers, Max, Roger and James Dunn and two sisters, Frances Clark and Ethelene Green. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 3:00 pm at Rocky River Baptist Church officiated by the Reverends Brian Gray and Randy Blank. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, September 30, 2005 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mrs. Purdy will be placed in the church at 2:00 pm on Saturday. The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
